A couple of weeks ago Freeride Mag asked me to shoot a bike check with German DH champion Johannes Fischbach, who had recently switched to a new team. Fischi and I decided to shoot it a little differently and drove to an abandoned rehab facility close to my home. It’s a giant, 100-room-building complex that’s been given up about 8 years ago. It’s incredible to see how fast places like that one can become completely wrecked – first by window smashers and door kickers, then by entering weather and wind… we found a pretty cool room to shoot the bike check in. Shortly after Fischi got dressed again, a couple of urban explorers came by – almost a shame they were a couple minutes late, it would have been an interesting scene if they had entered the room just to see naked Fischi tied up on a wall, hahaha!
